Awards Day at Lautoka Branch

Published: 29th Jan 2025

THE JP Bayly Trust is exploring new approaches to student assistance, says Trustee Anne Nacola.

She told the student presentation day in Lautoka that this would be made through mentorship and motivational programs.

“These initiatives aim to empower students to reach their full potential, not just academically, but also spiritually, personally and socially,” she said.

“The mentorship program will connect students with successful professionals and community leaders who can provide guidance, support and inspiration.

“The motivational programs — organising workshops and seminars that focus on building self- esteem — will develop essential life skills and foster a growth mind-set.”

Mrs Nacola said they would work closely with the Education Ministry to achieve this goal of the 2024-2028 strategic plan of the trust.

“To the students here today, I urge you to cherish the opportunities that the JP Bayly Trust has provided you. Embrace your education, work hard and strive for excellence. Remember that the support you have received is a testament to the belief that others have in your potential. No matter how difficult, we will endeavour to overcome the areas you may be struggling with.”

Mrs Nacola urged support for the vital work of the JP Bayly Trust.

“Let us work together to ensure that this incredible organisation can continue to uplift and empower future generations of Fijians.”

She said the theme, Empowering Futures: Celebrating 70 years of Impact and Building a Brighter Tomorrow, reflected the celebratory nature of the event while also looking towards the future and the trust’s continued commitment to empowering students.
