Vodafone ATH Foundation

The Bayly Education programme has benefited with a generous grant of $37,500 in July 2008 – thanks to the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation.

With continual increases in food prices this year in items such as rice, flour as well as kerosene, which are included in our ration packs, the grant was very timely.

this represents around 60% of our total education budget for 2008 and will be shared equally amongst the three Centers in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.

The Bayly Education programme supports around 500 students from less fortunate families, with the provision of tuition and other fees, exercise and text books, stationery, uniforms, footwear and school bags. The families of these students, who number about 1000, also receive fortnightly and monthly food rations throughout the year.

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation was established in 2004 and as part of its corporate social responsibility, also supports education programmes to improve life in the community, inspire innovation and encourage leadership.

The Bayly Education programme provides schooling to less fortunate children so that with a good education they would then be able to find suitable employment to support their families.

We are very grateful to the foundation for this timely grant.
