Special packs for Easter
The break of the 40 day Lenten period of fast and almsgiving was marked by our Easter distribution in lautoka. April 16th was a very special day and everyone was cheerful and jolly, wishing each other a Happy Easter and the extra goodies were a welcome treat. Hot cross buns, sweet biscuits, margarine, jam and cocoa was a wonderful way to begin the Easter celebrations.
Angels do exist
It was in the middle of April this year when I was taking part in a Variety Concert scheduled for the same night that I went to the Bayly Welfare Center with my mother. I didn’t have my costume and thought of approaching the Manager Central, Mrs. Manorma Chandra as my last hope. I also needed money to buy a ticket as my entry fee to the event.
Welfare Committees
All three Welfare Centers in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa have had their Annual General Meeting recently and the following have been elected to serve for the ensuing year.
20 years of selfless service
Late February was a joyous and memorable occasion for the Lautoka Welfare Center and in particular, for the Chairperson of the Committee Stella Smith.
