Josefa Uluivuda: From Rugby Star to Community Leader

Josefa Uluivuda married to Makelesi Dibau Davelevu with 3 children (1 daughter and 2 sons).

He started his education journey from his primary school attending to Vuda district School and later joining Ba Provincial School and Delana High School, Levuka, where he completed his secondary education, to peruse further in his tertiary education he joined The South Pacific Baptist College and when on to NZPTC.

Mr. Uluivuda has worked in Australia in a chemical formula company, after which he joined Treasure Island Resort and started they’re as a Flambé Chef. In the year 2017 to 2023 Mr. Josefa became Assistant Operations Manager for Treasure Island Resort.

In June, 2024 he joined JP Bayly Trust as a temporary assistant and within a few weeks he was signed in as a confirmed permanent staff as a full-time welfare assistant since 10th of July, 2024.

Mr. Joe’s has a huge passion for sport and previously he has played in club rugby in Australia for Paramatta Two Blues Blub- at the age of 19 years old.

He represented Fiji in 7’s Rugby in the World Cup in Argentina, moving on, he played for Hong Kong 7’s and the IRB 7’s series in the year 2000 to 2002. He also represented Fiji- in the American Tour in the year 2006 to 2007, Mr. Uluivuda also had been contracted by the Chicago Blaze Club and lastly in the year 2003 to 2004 he represented Lautoka rugby union in the rugby 7’s.
